Say helloooo to Mr. & Mrs Fox(y)!!! My goodness this wedding was fun – from the adorable ring bearer + flower girl to the surprisingly decent weather (first wedding this summer I didn’t sweat through my clothes – woo hoo!!)

Originally, we hadn’t planned on doing many photos outside since July is typically hot hot hot. Thank goodness for  lovely couples AND lovely weather!! :-)

These two kinda stole the show – as soon as they realized their moms weren’t right behind them, they weren’t really sure if they should keep walking down the aisle. :-)

I’ll admit I was a little nervous when I realized there were no windows in this church. But then… I got over it… because it reminded me of a movie theater, and don’t the best movies end with a happily-ever-after? I think so. ;-)

I *LOVE* when couples do photos both before and after the ceremony!! In my opinion, it’s the perfect way to soak in the whole idea of “being MARRIED!”

Ryan + Heather – I can not thank you enough for choosing me to be your wedding photographer! I had a great time documenting the beginning of your marriage and I hope you two continue to love each other more and more every day! :-)

I’ve been making a conscious effort to soak in every day of summer as best I can. I don’t want to be the one on the first day of autumn saying “where did my summer go?” Having my ‘monthly favorites’ list helps keep track of these days full of sunshine.

1: (number one for a reason) visitors!!! My parents came to visit! So did my husband’s parents, but we were too busy working that I forgot to take a photo of them.

2: mangoes – Nothing says summer like fresh fruit! My mouth has also been watering over apricots, peaches, and nectarines.

3: our lawn – We love our front lawn. It’s so pretty and green! This photo is from the very first time Lance mowed the lawn. I warned him this photo might be on the blog, and gave him the opportunity to change clothes, but he is happiest in his neon and camouflage.

4: Scotts Bluff National Monument – With our new house and yard, a lot of our days off are spent working in and around the house. I was thrilled when Josh + Whitney asked me to photograph their wedding in Nebraska, because not only were they so much fun to work with, the change in scenery gave us the freedom to take some time and try a new hike.

5: bike rides – Speaking of trying new things, last week I learned to ride a fancy bike… with gears!! The last bike I ever rode was when I was a little kid and I only ever rode it around our yard at the farm. Now I cruise the whole neighborhood every other morning.

Ever since I met Michael + Mellissa for their engagement session last summer, I have been looking forward to their wedding at Black Hills Receptions!

Mellissa’s father was recently ordained a deacon, so after he walked her up the aisle, he changed into his vestments and officiated the ceremony – how special is that?!

You guys, I am *this close* to photoshopping my husband and I into this next photo so I can hang it on our wall at home!! Favorite!!!

Mike + Mellissa – Thank you so much for having me photograph your wedding! I hope these photos are just what you needed to remember your wedding day before you take off on your honeymoon! :-)

James + Katie traveled all the way from Aberdeen with their dog and their bikes for some fabulous engagement photos in the Black Hills. And, of course, we spent half the time laughing and bonding over Disney movies and fruit snacks. A pretty perfect evening, if you ask me! :-)

Okay, so I’ve been a little bit in love with the sky lately…

James + Katie wanted these photos to shout ‘Black Hills’ – I think this photo pretty much sums it up. p.s. Check out those legs!!! On Katie, I mean… ;-)

I forget how big Rapid City is and how many schools there are. It is hard for me to wrap my head around people not knowing all of their classmates, because I grew up in a town of 400, and I knew everyone’s names (and their families) at least five grades ahead of and behind me.

Andrew + Meghan are both from Rapid City and they went to different schools, so they didn’t actually meet until they started working together. They got to know each other and become friends before they started dating. Which, I think, is a pretty awesome start to a life-long relationship. :-)

I just wanna say, thanks so much for choosing to frolic in the forest with me! ;-)
