Cooler weather = scarves, changing colors, and all things pumpkin flavored. Here are a few of my favorite things this month!

1. Pumpkin chocolate chip mini loaves – I baked these the other week and they were gone entirely WAY too fast!! I’ve also been addicted to pumpkin spice coffee creamer as well as anything in a mini loaf size. :-)

2. New boots!!! I was actually searching for some black boots… (because I already have brown boots (and I hardly ever wear those))… but THESE boots… These boots I fell in love with. And I promise to wear them every day we have ‘boot weather.’

3. The most common question I was asked during our engagement was “who photographs a photographer’s wedding?” Answer: bobbi+mike. Because they rock. Seeing our wedding photos was definitely one of the highlights for this month!!!!! There have been a couple sneak peeks on Facebook and we were just featured on bobbi+mike’s blog yesterday. Is it silly that one of my favorites is one with one of the photographers peeking over the hill behind us? :-)

4. Fall colors. I am surprised at how long they have lasted this year! This is a photo I took with my phone as I was waiting in my car for the rain to stop before Bailee’s senior session.

This past Saturday was my favorite day this month year ever

1. The excitement started on Wednesday when we picked up our marriage license. Who knew the courthouse could be so much fun??

2. The morning of the wedding, I set my alarm early in case I would hit snooze. My alarm went off, I tried to get a couple more minutes of sleep, but I was TOO EXCITED TO SLEEP!!

3. Me with Jill, Bobbi and Halley – my favorite girls from the day! They made me look good. Real good.

4. Our first iPhone photo as husband and wife!!!!!!!! :-D

To recap… my favorite thing this month: getting married. We had a perfect day and are now living our ‘happily ever after.’

THANK YOU to everyone who helped with the day and all the events surrounding it. I thought I would have every single detail planned, but as time got close and life got busy, all those little details got pushed aside. Thankfully we have amazing families and friends who stepped up and got everything taken care of – with only one noticeable hiccup (sorry, Lance, for making you wait at the altar for me!!)

THANK YOU to everyone who came to celebrate with us as well as those who couldn’t be there in person but thought about us that day. We feel SO BLESSED to have so many loving people in our lives!!

THANK YOU to all my ‘studio lb brides’ for showing me how it’s done – I am so lucky to have been part of your weddings to know how quickly the day flies by (believe me, it goes by a LOT faster when you’re the bride instead of the photographer!!). We didn’t get to talk to every guest (who were we kidding thinking that would happen??), but we enjoyed the day to it’s fullest and I have you to thank for showing me the most important thing: to sit back, relax, and enjoy the day. :-)

It has been another wonderfully busy month, but some of my favorite things have been the simplest things. Funny how that works. :-)

1. Playing outside with my nephew, Jonas. We played ‘that one hiding and guessing game’ for a looong time one afternoon, and every time we went outside after that, guess what he wanted to play? He would hide behind the boards of his playground tower and I would guess “What could possibly be so fast and sneaky and stripe-y and hairy? A cheetah? No, cheetah’s don’t have stripes. A snake? No, snakes don’t have hair. Hmm, what could it be?” I had to start making up imaginary animals!!

2. Snuggling with my nephew, Isaac. We are two peas in a pod – neither of us like being woken up from a nap, but both of us love to snuggle!! :-)

3. Coffea date with my bride, Terra, and bff, Jill. Oh, how I miss you beautiful girls!!

4. Fruit snacks. I’m trying my best to eat healthier, and my favorite snack is fresh fruit. Sprinkled with just a bit of Truvia. Or sometimes blended with some POM juice. Yummm.

The past month has been SO MUCH FUN!!!! From launching the new website to photographing a handful of fabulous weddings to finishing up wedding details to hanging out with friends and family – this month has been beyond wonderful!! Here’s what made my ‘top favorites’ for the month!

1. Chubby Chipmunk truffles – They are the best thing to come out of Deadwood! Who cares about going to the casinos, I’d rather spend all my money on chocolate!! Don’t mind the strange, run-down-gas-station-looking exterior of the building…. pure chocolate bliss is inside. And SO worth the drive from Rapid. My parents were out visiting for a week and we took the convertible out for a drive through the hills and Spearfish Canyon. We couldn’t NOT stop for truffles. :-)

2. Lake Angostura – It has been a super busy summer for me and Lance, and every time we’ve had time to take the boat out it has either rained or been too windy to go out on the water. So FINALLY this weekend we had time off AND perfect weather. I am happy to announce that my legs no longer blind people when I wear shorts in public. :-D

3. AIR CONDITIONING!!!!!!!! It has been SO HOT here for the past couple weeks and I am SO thankful to have air conditioning at my apartment. And a pool. That helps, too, when I don’t have work to do.

4. Alaska – It’s crazy that a month ago I was just getting back from photographing Patrick + Kimberly’s wedding in Whittier, Alaska. We had such wonderful weather (none of these 100+ degree days…) and everywhere you looked was so pretty. I only took a handful of mountain pictures because I was warned that it is possible to take too many mountain pictures – they all end up looking the same. And they’ll still be there when I go back to visit… someday…

‘Photo season’ is well under-way and I can’t wait to share all the weddings and engagement sessions I have coming up in the next few months!! But before I get ahead of myself, here’s what I’ve been enjoying this past month – and I hope you like them, too!!

1. Polyvore – I don’t consider myself to be a trendy person. At all. I have no idea how to put outfits together for myself. But with the explosion of Pinterest I have found quite a bit of inspiration, which I take over to Polyvore and create my own outfit ideas – both for me and for my couples’ engagement sessions. I still have a lot of fashion sense to learn, so feel free to add me on Pinterest and Polyvore and share your outfit ideas!!

2. Scotch Sure Start packaging tape – Yes, the small things in life are what make me so happy. This packaging tape – it’s QUIET!!! Pure packaging bliss. :-)

3. The Lumineers – I’m loving their song ‘Ho Hey‘ (I belong with you, you belong with me, you’re my sweetheart!!!). It’s a short song, so I don’t mind letting it repeat more than once or twice.

4. Vegas with Jill – I told you we are good at hanging out and drinking coffee! :-) We spent a week in Vegas shopping, eating and being touristy. The highlight of our trip: seeing “O.” And lunch at Mon Ami Gabi.
