james + jennifer MARRIED!!

You’re right, my wedding season was over… for my business… but that doesn’t mean I can’t be a guest at a wedding!! :-) I couldn’t help but bring my camera to Montana for my cousin James’ wedding. I didn’t take a ton of photos because catching up with TWELVE aunts and uncles and tables full of cousins takes a lot of time! I can honestly say it was fun to not be the photographer for once… but only because I had so many relatives to talk to!! :-)

My family is very witty. And punny. So seeing this sign as we drove up to the motel, I knew it would make for a lot of jokes throughout the day.

Obviously my dad was not the one to liven up the Dull Kilzer wedding. Here he is taking a pre-wedding nap:

Brayden was also a little sleepy:

This past weekend was my last free weekend until mid-October and I spent it with my family, celebrating my nephew Isaac’s baptism and Jonas’s third birthday!

Since I know Grandma is probably setting up camp next to the computer tonight, waiting for these photos…

Getting baptized!!

“Cutiesaurus”

Isaac is already a month old!!

And Jonas is THREE!!!

And five minutes later he is DONE taking pictures.

I’m going to go ahead and assume that he LOVED his present from Aunt Laura:

But after everything was opened, it was his brand new train set that got the most attention. And not just from Jonas… dad and grandpa were playing with it, too! :-)

Most people I know consider the weekend to start Friday evening and last through Sunday night. For me, it’s a little different.

On Sunday, I go to church and back up and convert all my photos from the weekend if I haven’t already done so the night before. Sunday evening I relax. Comparable to your Friday night.

Your Monday is my Saturday. While you are back at work, I am finally getting to take a day off. Thankfully, Lance worked his schedule out perfectly this summer so that we BOTH have Mondays as our weekends.

This ‘weekend’ (your Monday) we took a fun little trip to the badlands. We started our day with a tour of the Minuteman II missile site and launch control center. Pretty cool stuff. I had no idea there were so many missiles stationed here during the Cold War!! But then again, I really don’t know much about history. Of any kind. At all.

After our tour we took the Badlands scenic route just a few miles south of I-90. It was SUPER windy, but that didn’t stop us from going on a few scenic walks and taking a few photos:

Our shadows on the floor of the badlands!!

And our real selves at the top!! Our hair has definitely seen better days…

I wanted to tip-toe to the edge of this landing, but it was soooo windy, I was afraid a gust would come up and knock me over the edge!

And the excitement of our trip…… se it?! I didn’t at first.

A bobcat!!!!! I only brought my super wide-angle lens for this trip, so I couldn’t get a close-up of him. Instead, all I have to show is this super-grainy zoomed-in version. Lance said he was really big. Probably 40 pounds. This means nothing to me. I just smile and nod. :-)

So now, back to my ‘week’ – I’ve got a pile of emails to go through, orders to get printed, weddings to edit, packages to mail…. and no motivation to get it done. Helloooo ‘Monday!’ :-)

workin' hard

Even though I had a wedding-less weekend, I still have plenty of work to be doing (designing albums, ordering prints, cleaning my apartment, entertaining my parents while they stayed at my place for a few days).

But no matter how hard I’m working, there’s always time for a slice of homemade frozen raspberry cheesecake:

This is actually a double-feature sneak peek!! How exciting, right?! Not only am I going to show you a couple photos of Aaron + Jillian, but also some of my family!!

Jill is my cousin. Not many of us are at the ‘marriage’ stage in our lives right now and weddings seem to be few and far between for the time being. So it only makes sense that most of my mom’s HUGE family (she has 13 brothers and sisters) would get together at Aaron + Jillian’s Fargo wedding!

Mom and I counted. In this photo, there are 46 relatives (47 if you count my sister-in-law’s baby bump). These are my aunts, uncles, cousins, and their families. This is only a little over half of everyone. This is why I’m not intimidated when my clients tell me they have ‘huge families,’ thinking twenty people is ‘huge.’ :-)

And these are the ‘three musketeers.’ Lindsy, Jill and I are very close to the same age. Our family had to choose wisely as to whose first communion, confirmation and high school graduation they would attend because no one could ever see all three of us at any one occasion. So every other time there was a family function, we would all three take a photo together. And here’s the latest for our collection!!

And now for the ones you’ve all been waiting for…… :-)

Aren’t they ADORABLE?! I love doing weddings, but it’s so much fun when it’s my COUSIN getting married!!

More photos to come later this week!
