Unexpectedly warm weather and a welcoming herd of buffalo – Bobby + Lindsay’s Custer State Park wedding was definitely one for the record books!

Bobby + Lindsay planned for plenty of portrait time before their ceremony, which came in handy when these friendly buffalo had their own schedule for the day.

Did you know that these two are professional snugglers? It’s true. #theymakemyworklookgood ;-)

Bobby + Lindsay – I don’t even know how to thank you for trusting me with photographing your wedding (while eight months pregnant), but I’m so thankful that you did, because it was a FANTASTIC DAY!!! The laughs, the lighting, the buffalo, the singular tree with leaves still on it, your contagious love + excitement… all of it was perfect and I enjoyed every single minute of it!! It’s no wonder people love this time of year – the colorful leaves, the crisp air, and that golden sunlight!! Okay, so maybe it’s just us photographers who love the light. :-) I had SO MUCH FUN playing with the light and Matt + Ashley for their engagement photos. I just wish their wedding was sooner so we could hang out again!!

Gabe + Ellie chose to have a small, mid-week wedding ceremony out here in Custer State Park and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Quiet, calm, and beautiful, much like the two of them and their love for each other.

Gabe + Ellie – I loved being a part of your wedding day – thank you so much for having me and taking the extra time to wander around the park for photos. I hope you had a fun, love-filled reception at home this weekend!

When a wedding has ten attendants for each the bride and groom and the colors are pink and GLITTER, you know it’s going to be a party. A very pretty party. :-)

Fernie + Shantell – Thank you for bringing your amazing selves and friends + family to South Dakota for your wedding!!! I wish we could do this every single weekend! :-)

Weddings like Aubrey + Mary’s completely blow me away with the perfect combination of love, silliness, and sunshine peeking out just in time for photos. :-)

Mary and I met a few years ago, and we instantly hit it off (and judging by the speeches I heard on Saturday, this is a pretty common occurrence). She’s a great friend, and everyone lucky enough to be in her life is truly blessed. She also has a great circle of family and friends, but when she met Aubrey she hit the jackpot. He is her perfect gentleman with a hilarious sense of humor.

Aubrey + Mary got engaged on the top of Harney Peak, and since Sylvan Lake was sort-of on the way to their reception at the Game Lodge from their wedding at the Chapel in the Hills, we prayed for no rain, few tourists, and headed up!

WORTH IT!!!

Wall Drug donuts!!!!! They were a hit. Especially with Grandpa. ;-)

Gosh, how do I begin to thank you guys for having me photograph your wedding? It really was the perfect day, which I truly believe is a preview of what your marriage will be. I am honored you asked, and I can’t wait to watch your happily ever after play out!! :-)

Also, there were two studio lb brides at this wedding!!! Remember Megan? She had similar storm clouds threatening her big day. :-)
